Official Opposition Education Critic releases ‘Return to School Framework’
Charlottetown, PE – In the absence of a meaningful guide for schools, students, and parents preparing for a return to class this coming fall, Official Opposition Education Critic, Karla Bernard, has tabled a ‘Return to School Framework’ document.
“I am hearing from a lot of anxious people – school staff, students, and parents – who have been asking questions about what the new school year will look like and what preparations need to be made,” explained Bernard, “Eight weeks is a very short time for schools and parents to make the necessary plans for a successful return to school. It is imperative for this information to be made available now.”
The framework developed by the Official Opposition outlines requirements for effectively creating a detailed Return to School plan on a tight timeline for schools. The framework helps identify needs, considerations, and gaps that will allow for the safe return of students and staff to Island schools.
“I hope government gives the critical attention required to safely reopen our schools,” said Bernard, “I call on this government to immediately begin working with Island schools, parents, and students to make sure this happens so we have a safe and efficient return to school this fall.”
