Statement by Karla Bernard, MLA Charlottetown – Victoria Park on relocation of Community Outreach Centre to the former Charlottetown Curling Club
I am very pleased to see the establishment of the Community Outreach Centre at the former Charlottetown Curling Club. This new location offers more space to provide the programming and services that our community members need and have been asking for. The new space also means there are more opportunities for the Community Outreach Centre to expand the services it currently offers.
It was especially exciting to see the community rally and voice their support for this valuable service. This is something that people definitely want in their backyard.
A safe central location means community members can quickly access the supports they need, including financial assistance, counselling services, employment, food and housing. Make no mistake, everyone in our community has the right to receive the support they need to live a happy and healthy life.
